Its been a long couple of days.... On Wednesday we made our first trip together down to Birmingham, Alabama. Let me tell you it was a LONG drive. We left the house around 2 or 3pm Wednesday and we arrived in Birmingham at about 8am on Thursday. It really should not have taken that long to get there but we ran into traffic and construction work before leaving Texas. Once we got to Birmingham we checked into our hotel took a 2 hour nap and were up by 10am, waiting for our realtor to pick us up at our hotel to begin house hunting. This was our first time meeting our realtor and she was really nice. The first house we looked at was in the Crestwood area, it was HORRID! Little did we know it was a bit of a lesson. Yes, yes you get what you pay for. After that we saw about 10 houses all in either in the Crestwood or Bluffview area. We fell in love with a house in the Crestwood area and I was ready to end our search right there and then! Tobias convinced me otherwise. We ended our house hunting that day at around 3pm we were spent and ready to head back to the hotel to nap. After napping we returned to the house that we really liked, we wanted to see what the neighborhood was like at night, it was pretty quiet, after that we grabbed a bite to eat, headed back to the hotel and went to bed! Friday we were up by 8am, our realtor picked us up at 9am and the house hunting continued. This day she was going to take us to see some newer construction as the day before the homes we saw were pretty much built in the 50's-60's. I was still ready to end the search, I was convinced that we had found our home the day before. That is until we ended up at our first house of the day. It was a newer house built in 2002, in the Fultondale area. It just so happens that this was one of the first housed that our realtor had sent me in an email and I immediately shot it down for 2 reasons, I felt the neighboring houses were too close, and there was no back yard. Upon entering both Tobias and I were just stunned, it was beautiful, it looked so new and clean, it was immaculate, the rooms were so much bigger than any of the homes we had seen the day before and the living area was open to the kitchen which I love. The only thing that was holding me back was the lack of fencing in the back yard. Upon discussing this with our realtor she said she was almost sure that she could take care of this. After going through the house several times, we finally left our realtor showed us a couple of more houses but this time we knew were were done. We let her know that we had made our choice. We wanted the house in Fultondale. So long story short we end up back at the realtors office, we make an offer to include a fence and that the seller pay closing costs, while we wait for a reply Tobias and I went to grab a bite to eat, by the time we went back to the office our realtor told us that the sellers had accepted our offer! We were so excited, Tobias immediatley set up the inspection for the house, signed some papers and we went back to our hotel. Later that night we visited the neighborhood to check it out. It seemed pretty peaceful. After that we went grabbed a bite to eat, drove around a bit, went back to the hotel and went to bed. We woke up at about 10am on Saturday and started packing up so we could get ready to leave. We ended up leaving before 11, we stopped by the house once more before we left. The ride back home was so much better, I drove through all 3 states(Alabama, Mississippi, and Lousiana) and Tobias took over once we hit Texas. We ended up getting home at about 4am on Sunday. I had found out while we were in Alabama that I was being considered for a job opening I applied for, so I set up an interview for Monday at 11am. So once we got home Sunday, I slept for a couple of hours woke up and then hit the road again! So exhausting, anyways my interview experience will wait for another post. for now I'll share some pics of our new house!

Loved this house! Wish we could keep all the furniture too!
